From Chapter 9 of Matter into Feeling.
Suffering arises out of the hidden nature of god and our ability to have choices. It is often that people don’t see that there is another side or perspective to a problem, so they get further entrenched in the problem itself. He said that the other side of the problem is recognising that if anyone is suffering, we are all suffering.
To relieve the suffering we need to accept and see that we created it. We are creators of the universe which is born out of our imagination.
He explores a strategy for relieving suffering:
Step 1: In your thoughts – Become what you hate.
Step 2: Discuss it with your friends.
Step 3: Accept others foibles as our own we relieve our own suffering.
