What is death anyway? That’s one of the questions that came out of the book, Physics of the Soul by author Amit Goswami, Ph.D. It’s such an interesting question.
He talks to us about a woman talking about death with her little child. The child was asking, ‘What is death, mommy? What happens?” And she would answer “It is when someone passes away.” And with further questioning, answering, “Oh, it’s the soul leaving the body, the soul is the thing that passes away.” Now we’ve gotten so much into science that how do we define death? Do the doctors have to say it’s brain death or heart death or cellular death? A woman would possibly tell her child, “When we die, first the brain dies and then the heart dies and then the cells die.” And the little kid might ask then, “What actually happens to me?” Well, how do we define the “me”?
The question moves from what is death anyway, to what is death? What happens when we die? This book has been interesting because the author has been looking at how quantum physics can support the idea of reincarnation, and that the quantum monad is actually the soul. The soul moves into each of these different incarnations with a specific thing that it wants to learn. The author talks about karma. and about how karma isn’t really a bad thing. Karma is us learning from one incarnation to the next.
But back to death. The author describes death as the pulling away of consciousness, the pulling away of the quantum monad from the physical body, far enough, unlike an NDE where we kind of step through and have a little taster, to moving beyond the place that there is no return. And then we move into this non-local space of no space and no time. We move into a place where we can be aware, and look at our lessons, look at our life, make some choices. Are we coming back? Are we coming in service? What’s our purpose? So many different things to consider.
The author also touches on what happens before birth. There have been scientific studies where people have been regressed back, or they remember things from before they were born. Many people said they chose to come and many remember waiting for the fetus, almost feeling like they’re creating the fetus for when it’s time for them to step in. A lot of things to think about.
I would encourage you to dive into this subject a little bit more. Keep in mind that learning about death gives us an awareness and enables us to make choices in what we want to do when we come to the death time in our lives, when we separate our consciousness from our physical body. When we do not fear death, we can really live.
