In the book Physics of the Soul – The Quantum Book of Living, Dying, Reincarnation, and Immortality, by author Amit Goswami, Ph.D., there is a discussion about non-locality as it pertains to both quantum physics and also the soul in reincarnation or dreams or near-death experiences.
It’s interesting to find that non-locality is in both concepts in this discussion. Non-locality is described in quantum physics as two particles that are connected in space and time (entangled) and when you split them apart, they seem to react to the same stimulus at the exact same moment, even though they can be miles, hundreds of miles apart. The connection is not limited by space and time, and there seems to be no direct communication that’s going on between them. They are just entangled, getting the same information at the exact same time.
The question here is – is the description in quantum physics the same as pertaining to the soul, or consciousness, when someone reincarnates or has a dream?
It seems that non-locality, in some cases, maybe exactly what is happening when a memory from that a past life comes through, even though this memory has nothing to do with this physical lifetime, or maybe when a person has transitioned, still can have communication or connection to something in the physical.
It’s also an interesting idea to think of the quantum field, where all the possibilities exist, being similar to or the same as, maybe a field of consciousness, where all ideas, all memories, past, present and future reside. And, it is also interesting to ponder that there is a downward causation to the physical from the quantum field, as well as a form of downward causation from the field of consciousness.
These are interesting ideas and good questions, and something we’re exploring in this new book.
