Science actually shows us that change is inevitable if we are going to understand more about the universe. We shatter one structure, one concept, or build upon it, and stay open to change. That is what the book, The Grand Biocentric Design – How Life Creates Reality by Robert Lanza, MD and Matej Pavsic with Bob Berman, want us to understand in Chapters Two and Three.

Starting all the way back with Issac Newton and his realizations about gravity, moving through the years of changing science and building upon it, we began to understand about motion, trajectory, the way that nature works, and the forces that are there, including electromagnetic, gravitational, strong force and weak force. As we have moved through time, the scientific method of actually questioning or trying to prove that something is right or wrong, and coming up with replicable results, has taken us from that time of Newton, where these ideas were first explored, all the way through to the new ideas in quantum theory, quantum mechanics. Each of these has built upon the other, and each of these has also expanded what was known. And whether the old scientists agree or not, the more we question and the more we stay open, the more we learn and the more we explore, then the more we begin to create greater understanding and knowledge.

Science has moved to from a time of simple observations to calculations to mathematical equations, to more complex experiments supporting theories and bringing us further and further into new understandings. Science has moved all the way to the place of where we begin to look and understand that waves and particles exist, and a particle is what they would call a “collapse of the wave function”. Science was believing that the tiniest piece of matter may have had a different way of acting compared to the larger physical existence, but experiments are now beginning to show signs like the quantum in the natural world where it was thought that the activity of the quantum realm was separate and bizarre.

There are many, many theories being proposed and investigated, and some old scientists don’t believe and challenge the new thinkers. One of the best quotes that I found in these chapters is actually from Max Planck, where he said, “A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.”

We may not understand all the time, but those that do question and stay open are the ones that are moving our understandings forward. So I invite you to not hold fast to that what you believe is true at this point, but always stay open for the possibility of expanding into greater knowledge; building upon what you already have and not getting stuck in the everyday world of thinking that what you’ve been taught is enough. Greater understanding, greater exploration is what helps us move as human beings into our greater potential.
