Currently, with Quantum Leap Book Club, we are discussing “Dying to Be Me” by Anita Moorjani. This incredible book, sharing her near-death experience and the impact it has had on the rest of her life, gives the reader an opportunity to contemplate some very deep thoughts. A few observations that Anita shares about her experience are the following: Anita describes being acutely aware of every minute detail that she experiences including what everyone at her hospital bedside was feeling. She comments that her MIND IS NO LONGER INTERFERING. As a reader of her book, I ponder how different my thoughts and experiences could be if I did not allow my mind to interfere. She began to know that everything was perfect and going according to plan. She felt surrounded by the reassuring feeling of a greater TAPESTRY unfolding where everything was exactly as it should be in the grand scheme of things. P 64 She had no awareness of being out of the ordinary as everything seemed perfectly natural. P 65 In the final paragraphs of Chapter 7 on page 70, Anita discusses the new awareness she gained that we are all CONNECTED. She recognized that “there exists an interwoven unification with everything in the universe – every human, animal, plant, insect, mountain, sea, inanimate object, and the cosmos. She realized that the entire universe is alive and infused with consciousness, encompassing all of life and nature as part of an infinite Whole.” These few sentences are examples of the profound understanding Anita achieved because of her journey to death and back again.
