Chapter 4 of the book, The Gratitude Effect by Dr. John Demartini is titled “Doing What You Love and Loving What You Do”. We discussed the information from this chapter on a recent Quantum Leap Book Club show. This post includes some of the key points made in this chapter.

Dr. Demartini encourages his readers to: TAKE THE FIRST STEP!!! Your vocation and vacation can be your life.

The following is an exercise he suggests. He leads people to identify if their job tasks are linked to their highest values and goals. Each write down how what they are doing will help them realize their goals.  They answer the question differently 20 to 30 times until they see connections. This exercise has resulted in a rise of productivity, motivation, company loyalty, and inspiration.

Previous chapter explained how genius is stimulated with gratitude. Our soul knows what we would truly love to do. Gratitude is the key to unlock fearless living. Gratitude and fear cannot be experienced at the same time.

What can you do for hours and not notice time passing? Pay attention to moments when you feel inspired, enthusiastic, loving and grateful.  You can discover your calling and unveil dreams most dear to your heart. Minds become unwavering and clear when we allow our hearts to guide us. Treat yourself as the most amazing person and take time to plan your life. Focus on what exactly you want to be, to do, and to have.
